Ki Bun was born in Seoul/Korea. He was found as a baby, lived in a children's home until the age of two. He was adopted by a german couple and has lived since then in Germany. Ki Bun began his career as an actor in different theatre groups and did photographical works. He has an unusual technical background as he was working in a photo laboratory and as a gaffer for several films since almost ten years. As a guest student he had seminars at the German Film & TV Academy Berlin (dffb). He is realizing short films since 1994. Ki Bun has been the personal assistant to Fred Kelemen on his Film "Verhängis/Fate" and the co-writer on the screenplay "Nicht Fisch Nicht Fleisch/Neither Fish Nor Fowl" from Matthias Keilich. He is founding the company for writing "Upper Cut" with his writing partner Thomas Reuthebuch.
